The hormonal acne guide

How I finally healed my adult hormonal acne

For years I blamed my hormones and every slice of cake I ate. The answer was sitting on my bathroom shelf the whole time, and it was far simpler than anything I’d been sold.

If this is you

You wake up and reach for your jaw before your eyes are even open, just to see what showed up overnight.

If you’ve ever:

  • Been told your only real options are going back on the pill, Accutane or spironolactone
  • Cut out dairy, sugar, gluten and coffee, and skipped the cake at every birthday
  • Watched your supplement shelf grow while your skin stayed the same (mine used to cost me about €300 a month)
  • Believed you had to fix your gut or balance your hormones before your skin was allowed to clear
  • Been told your skin would clear up if you just stressed less or meditated more
  • Bought the expensive serum everyone swore by and broken out worse

Then this guide is for you, because I did all of that too.

What I used to believe

Most of what I believed about my acne was wrong

“Hormonal acne can’t be fixed with skincare.”
Hormones can make you more prone to acne, but the spot itself still forms in a pore, and that’s where you treat it. My period pimples still show up, but they’re small and they heal fast.
“I need the pill to have clear skin.”
The pill was only covering my acne up. Once I treated the skin itself, I got clear without it.
“Clear skin needs expensive products.”
My routine today costs about five times less than what I used to spend on my skin, and it works far better. Your pores have no idea what anything cost.
“I have to heal my gut and cut out cake first.”
A spot starts forming weeks before you see it. The slice of cake you had yesterday didn’t cause today’s pimple, so your cake is innocent.

My story

My healing era, and what actually worked

I started the pill at fifteen. The second I stopped, the acne came back on my face and all over my back, and honestly it brought friends.

So I went looking for the answer inside my body. I cut sugar, dairy, gluten and coffee. Then came saliva and blood tests and so many supplements that I was spending about €300 a month. My skin looked fine for a few months. Then the acne came back, and I felt so betrayed.

What finally changed everything was learning how skin actually works. I built a boring routine with mostly pharmacy products, one at a time, and about three months later I was 99% clear (a personal result, your skin may respond differently). Then I had pizza, and cake at a friend’s birthday, and my skin just stayed great.

This guide is everything I wish I’d known at the start.

  • Workbook and bonusSeven worksheets to assess your skin and track your progress, plus the pore-clogging list I check every product against.

Boring on purpose

This isn’t a two-week fix

It took me about three months. You’ll still get some breakouts along the way, and that doesn’t mean it isn’t working. The routine is boring on purpose: you add one product at a time and give your skin a couple of weeks before the next one. The guide explains why, so you know what to expect before you start.

This guide is for you if

  • You break out along your jaw and chin, or your acne came back when you stopped the pill
  • You’ve done the diets, supplements and tests and you’re still breaking out
  • You want to understand why your skin does what it does, so you can stop guessing
  • You’re happy with a boring routine, as long as it’s one that works

This guide is not

  • A replacement for a doctor or dermatologist
  • A promise of clear skin in two weeks
  • A diet plan (you can keep your cake)
  • Against medication: the pill, Accutane and spironolactone help a lot of people, and that’s a conversation for you and your doctor

What you get

  • The complete guide: 77 pages, instant PDF download
  • The 16-week clear skin plan, week by week
  • A starter kit of mostly affordable pharmacy products, one per job
  • Seven worksheets, from your skin assessment to your flare plan
  • My pore-clogging ingredient list

One-time price: €27

For comparison, I was spending about €300 a month on supplements that didn’t clear my skin.

FAQ

I’ve tried a lot already. Will this be different?

It was written for exactly that. It skips the detoxes and supplement stacks and focuses on the part I ignored for years, the skin itself, with ingredients that have decades of evidence behind them.

Is it only for post-pill acne?

No, it’s for adult hormonal acne in general, whether yours flares around your period or came back after you stopped the pill. It still forms in a pore, so the same routine applies.

Do I need the pill, Accutane or spironolactone?

I didn’t use any of them, and the routine in this guide uses products you can buy without a prescription. They do help a lot of people, though, so if you’re considering one, talk it through with your doctor.

Do I need expensive products?

No, the starter kit is mostly affordable pharmacy products, one per job, and the guide shows you how to check what’s already on your shelf first.

Will it work for my skin?

I can’t promise that, because results vary from person to person. The guide helps you work out which routine fits your skin, and it lists the signs that mean you should see a doctor instead of testing things at home.

Is this medical advice?

No, I’m not a doctor. This is my own experience plus the research, explained in my own words. If you take any medicine or have a skin condition, check with a doctor or pharmacist before you change your routine.

How do I get the guide?

Right after you pay, you can download the PDF on the confirmation page, and a copy lands in your inbox. It opens on any phone or computer.

Can I get a refund?

The guide is a digital download you get straight away. At checkout you agree to immediate access, which ends the 14-day right of withdrawal. If the file doesn’t open or something is wrong with it, email hello@goodinherskin.com and I’ll fix it.
